Jason Eli is a former resident DJ at Ministry Of Sound. He's known & loved for mixing up the best in House, Soul, Funk, Dance & Disco.
Born and raised in London, Jason's early love of Soul, Jazz and Hip Hop (along with a relentless desire to party) led him into DJing, and by 1991 he was playing funky music in grimy pubs all over town.
By 1992 he was a regular fixture at Ministry of sound, playing cutting edge house in the bar/main rooms and mixing up the styles in the VIP room, maintaining a residency there on Saturday nights for nearly five years. His experience draws from DJing with the likes of Masters at Work, Frankie Knuckles, Carl Craig, Todd Terry and Danny Tenaglia.
He also developed and matured due to regularly touring all over the world with DJs including Roger Sanchez, Kevin Saunderson, Xpress 2, Kenny Carpenter, DJ Harvey and Tim Deluxe.
An internationally respected talent with decades of experience at the top, Jason is one of the most well known DJs in NZ, playing at many of the major dance music events. Jason is known for soulful grooves mixed with edgy, grimy, funky house at more uptempo events, but can also take things down a notch and move effortlessly between Latin, Afro Beat, Dancehall, Broken Beats and Hip Hop.
