...born in '76 and based westside in Auckland City, Andy JV has lived a life growing up nurtured on NZ music, 80s and 90s Hiphop, R 'n B and pop, old Soul as well as Funk music...

Andy JV studied the violin and piano in his earlier years which lead on later in life to an interest in vinyl-sourced music, and eventually turntablism..

A current owner of Rakinos on High Street since '04, his musical influence continues to grow with the influence of the multitude of talented and gifted musicians and deejays that perform at his venue..he has always maintained that he is blessed to be surrounded by so many musicians and deejays and his constant learning of new music and encountering of new, upcoming musicians makes all the hardwork all worthwhile in the end...

Currently Andy JV rotates weekly in bars and clubs such as the Ponsonby Social Club, Racket Bar & A&M, La Zeppa, The Neighbourhood, Northern Steamship, The Nuffield Brew Bar as well as his homebase Rakinos, to name but a few..if you've ever stepped into these venues on a night hes been behind the wheels and liked what you heard, then pick up the phone you know what to do... ;-)
